The wakeboard and water ski club in Exmouth has been awarded Gold in the Visit Devon Tourism Awards 2020. The BWSW affiliated club picked up the top prize in the ‘Active Experience of the Year’ category.

Exe Wake received the award in a virtual ceremony on 11th March which was attended by finalists from businesses across the region.

“After such a challenging year it’s fantastic to receive some positive news and we are delighted to have recognition for all the hard work we have put into the business,” said James Edge, Operations Director.

“Devon is a region that offers loads of amazing activities so to be crowned the best means a great deal to us.”

James Edge, along with Business Director Ria Ball and her husband Tim, bought Exe Wake in 2017 and invested in new boats, staff training and a refit of the floating barge.

“We have always strived to create a unique experience that can be enjoyed by both locals and visitors,” Ria Ball said.

“ It’s important for us to champion the very best of Devon and the lifestyle that can come with it so in recent years we have expanded our offer to include not just our core water sports but also floating yoga classes, pop up gin nights and private hire options at our on deck bar.”
