Premier 3 Round Slalom Rankings Competition Report
9 September 2016
Alex Campbell
International Gold Medal and British Waterski Team skiers descended on Premier Water Ski School at Pentney Lakes Norfolk near Kings Lynn last Sunday.
The event saw over 20 competitors compete to beat Personal Best Slalom Performances. The day was slightly marred by the poor weather and the high winds made it even more challenging. Captain Jonathon Cohen and Russell Cox ( Navigator ) arrived by JC’s own private plane (aka JC Airways ) from Stapleford ,London. Most others used conventional transport . PWSS provided new on-site accommodation ( £10 ppp night ), showers, club house ,catering by Vallia with Razzalinda and private airfield.
Homolgator / retired airline pilot and octogenarian Robin Nicholls also flew in in his own aircraft from Membury and flew home again after the event- all very glamorous !
Results included Rob Haselwood 4.5 @ 11, Greg Perry ( PWSS Coach and COO ) 2 @11 , Kelly Atkins ( PWSS President ) 2 @ 12, Callum Heath 3 @ 11 , Noah Pollard ( PWSS jnr champ and son of President Atkins ! ) 4 @ 55, Robin Hoile 4.5 @ 14 beating Russell Cox in the old boys rivalry stakes because Russell says he forgot to do his boot up – a likely story which Judge Jill Heath refused to believe when RC announced he wanted a re-run ...
Comedy award to on-site Medic/ PWSS PR Officer Alex Crew-cut Campbell who only managed to get round 1 ball in 2 rounds and missed the gate in the 3rd Round. As he spent more time under the water rather than on it he gets the Open Water Swimming Award despite being reprimanded for bad language on the lake. He is relieved this did not occur at Gosfield lake where Carl and Vince Turp would have charged him £5 for the swimming!
