It is with great sadness that we inform you, Roy Mapple passed away last weekend at the age of 82 . . .

Roy, husband to Janet and father to Susan, Andy and Christine was well known and loved by all as the father pacing up and down the bank when his son Andy was on the water skiing for his many World titles. 

Roy and his family skied with the Wyre Water Ski Club on the river near Preston and then skied on Lake Windermere.

There is a funny story of Roy going over the jump and knocking over the watering boy with his bucket on the jump platform. This is one of the many cherished memories for all who knew him will have of this very gentle man. Indeed Roy was a true Gentleman.

Roy's funeral service will be held at the Holy Trinity Church, Freckleton, Preston, PR4 1YJ on Thursday 12th September at 2.30pm.
